The Words & Silver Linings Playbook

Recently I have seen two quality Bradley Cooper movies. Yes, you didn't misread it, I did say "quality Bradley Cooper movies". In case you've been living in a cave, you should also know that he is actually nominated for the Oscars for one of those movies as well.

The first movie, The Wordswritten and directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, is about a struggling writer and his moral dilemma of taking an anonymous piece of novel and making it his own. As simple as it might sound, as the story develops it turns out to have a twist of it's own in which I won't disclose here as a spoiler. Although critics have said that The Words is convoluted and lackluster, I feel that it could not be worse then Inception. So if you could follow Inception and you like it, you won't have a problem with The Words. I feel that the concept is a bit original, yet the Olivia Wilde part was a bit redundant and could have been written differently if not scrapped. That having said, Jeremy Irons did a great performance which made up for Olivia's part. I don't feel like it was a waste of my time watching it, on the contrary it made me reflect on life in general and how thankful I am for being who I am right now.

The second movie, Silver Linings Playbook, which was adapted from the novel of the same name by David O. Russell, and directed by Russell, is a completely honest story and an absolute breath of fresh air about two mentally and equally troubled people and how they ended up falling in love. The motif of abnormality was not annoying at all and sometimes even gets us thinking we are actually all a bit abnormal in our very own way. The cast's performance was great, which is no wonder why they are nominated in all four of the Oscars acting awards since 1981. I have my fingers crossed for Jennifer Lawrence to win!=)

They were both good movies in my standards and I do recommend!=)
