Collective movie review: Side Effects and 50/50

I heard that Side Effects is a movie that can scare the shit out of you, yet it didn't have that effect on me. However, being a psycho-thriller, it is quite a heavy and intense movie that is pretty pointless in the end, even the star packed cast couldn't counter this flaw. The so-called twist was at one point predictable, all in all it was not an amazing movie.

50/50 which was based on a medical plot as well, contrarily was a good movie. It was funny, and heartwarming despite the depressing material it was based on: a young man fighting cancer who fell for his therapist. Joseph Gordon Levitt once again beamed as a lovable appealing character, and Anna Kendrick also shinds as the sweet girl next door. Seth Rogen as usual was hilarious as hell but at the same time surprisingly sentimental. Fun fact: The story was inspired by Seth Rogen's friend who went through cancer.
