My parish

Often people ask me why I choose to go to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church I go to, despite the fact that the English mass is populated mostly of Filipinas they think I can't relate to. I usually just simply answer "church is church, shouldn't make a difference."

What i never elaborate is that they being Filipina doesn't mean we can't connect, in fact because we have them as helpers in our lives makes the connection stronger, the gratitude and care different to any one else. And their singing is amazing, angelically amazing. I keep thinking that they are  angels sent to us not only to help us in our daily lives, but spiritually enrich us with their hymns.

Despite the gun incident and especially because of the typhoon, the Sino-Filo community has actually become more robust.

Another important reason I am with this parish is because my parents were married in this church, I was baptized and confirmed there, even my grandparents memorial happened there, there's simply no reason to diverge.

The strength, serenity and wisdom I always pray for most probably (granted subtly) is from that church in the most inextricable way. I definately wouldn't have done it any way other!
